Sometimes you probably find that a file suddenly refuses to be deleted. The error message that shows up doesn’t tell enough information about what really happen to the file is. For example, you may get an error message saying that the file is being used by another program, but it doesn’t tell you which program that does it. You close all the running programs but the file still can’t be deleted. The file stays locked even though you have closed the Windows explorer and then open it again.

It is Boot Deleter that will help you deleting the locked file. Right click the file and choose the command, then the file will be deleted at the next Windows start-up. However, you need to integrate the program with Windows explorer to make it happens, which only requires a click of a button. Boot Deleter is a free application.
